Prices versus your Local Book Shop

If you are visiting this site from outside the USA, then please note that all prices are in US dollars and the items will be shipped to you from the USA. This can be a very good thing, depending on the exchange rate of the currency where you live.

Particularly with a good exchange rate the books and other items are usually much cheaper than they are in a physical book shop. This is helped by the enormous buying power of our partner, Amazon.com.

Your bank or credit card company may not offer exactly the same exchange rate as the one this tool uses, though these rates are updated every day. You should only use this currency converter tool to get a rough idea of what your bank will charge you in your local currency.

Remember, you will need to add Amazon's shipping charges. We think you will still be very pleasantly suprised at how cheap it is to shop at PuppySchool.org.

Why bother with this store - Shouldn't I just go to Amazon.com ?

Well, of course you could. In terms of prices, it would not make any difference. We charge exactly the same prices as on www.amazon.com. This also includes book discounts - if you see an item discounted on Amazon, it will be the same discounted price on PuppyStore.org.

Our partnership with Amazon provides us with the same useful tools you will find on the main Amazon.com site: reader reviews of books, "star ratings" for each book (voted by readers), suggestions on other items similar to what you are looking at, full author & publisher details, synopses, and the marvellous Amazon feature of being able to open up and read sections of many popular books (just like you could in a walk-in book store).

Also, if a title is available on Amazon.com, it is available through PuppyStore.org. That gives us access to the world's largest catalogue of books. No walk-in store can offer you a similar range of book titles or other dog products.

We do offer quite a lot that Amazon does not, however.

What you Don't Get on Amazon.com

While Amazon is a fantastic online resource, the very size of the operation means that you don't always get the best experience if you don't know quite what you're looking for. They are a generalist store, and the structure of the Amazon website and indexes cannot be the best in all circumnstances.

We know our stuff and have structured PuppySchool.org to be very helpful and informative to someone interested training and caring for their dog.

We have information about choosing the right dog for you, about specific breeds of dogs, training puppies and dogs, dealing with some of the common challenges all dog owners face (such as house-training,feeding / nutrition, doggie healthcare, grooming your dog, and preventing your dog from becoming a "nuisance barker").

Shipping Charges

You will pay shipping charges (calculated by Amazon) in addition to the price of the products you buy through PuppySchool.org. We have quite a lot of customers who will be interested in shipping charges to Australia.

If you are comparing prices on this store versus buying locally, remember the "hidden costs" you will probably incurr.

These may include cost of getting to/from the physical store, the time you will spend, the risk that you may not be able to find the item you are looking for, or inadvertently purchase out-of date editions (many bookstores find it difficult to sell their stock of specialist titles before new editions come out).

Finally, remember that the more items you buy, the lower the shipping cost "overhead" on each item.

Why should I trust you with my Credit Card details?

You won't. We don't need to see any specific information about you. You never give them to us. We don't collect, see, or keep any financial or credit card details about you when you buy through www.puppyschool.org.

We never see or collect any credit card or banking details from you. The shopping cart and checkout you will go through are Amazon's main systems (you are buying the products from Amazon - we are really just helping you find what you want to buy). Amazon.com have invested a huge amount of money and effort in the security of transactions made through their shopping cart and checkout facilities.
